Things that bug me
One thing that bugs me is when I have to go to the bathroom really bad and the teacher wont let you go. Most of the time there is 20 more minutes of class and I don't have anything else to do. Another thing that bugs me is when your friends say that they have no friends when obviously I'm right there. Also I hate it when people are sarcastic and rude all the time. Then they complain about how no one likes them, like there's a reason why!

Kid Nation #7
Deviant: Taylor is the perfect example of a person that breaks the society's norms. Her team is made up of a bunch of little kids, so they have no one to make them behave. Also they always manage to be the cooks, which is a hardworking job, but Taylor never cooks and leaves it to the other teams. Since there was no punishment for not doing anything, she continued to be lazy and never do her part. Lastly because of her actions of laziness, everyone voted her off the council for her lack of helping the town.
Stigma: A couple traits that are used to label Taylor is lazy, unreliable, and untrustworthy. Taylor did earn those traits because she hasn't been pulling any weight around the town. She also has promised that she would help out, but the next morning she just slept in and left everyone else to do her job. Another person that has a label is Greg because in the beginning he was cussing at little kids when he got angry. Lastly was considered bossy because she was the only one taking charge in the kitchen and there was a lot of work that had to be done.
Social Control: One of Taylor's friends was following in her footsteps by being lazy and not doing her job. The council pressured her into burying trash with them, or she was going to not get paid. If she didn't get paid, then she wouldn't be able to buy any thing that she needs or wants. Another example of social control is when someone wants to leave then everyone in the town encourages them to stay. For example a little girl wanted to leave, but because her friend danced in the talent show and made her happy, she decided to stay.

Best Friend
Chloe Lexa is my best friend. We have been friends since 3rd grade, but we just started really talking when we found out that we were in the same 6th grade class. She's like the only person I text and we both like the same music. We hang out a lot and we plan on going to six flags a lot this summer. A lot of stupid rumors start even though they aren't true, but I always help her get through it. Even though she made me watch the conjuring and made me have nightmares for a whole month, I still love her.

Social Exchange: One example of social exchange is when some people worked extra hard around the town, and in return they got a gold star. The gold star is very important and is worth $20,000, so everyone wants to work hard to receive it. Also if they do their job, the kids will get paid in return. Another example of social exchange is when a little girl wanted to leave. Because her friend danced in the talent show and made her happy, in return she stayed.
Authority: The people that have the authority in the town is the council. The people that are part of the council are Anjay, Guyland, Laurel, and Zach. The council has the authority to chose who receives a gold star, or make a decision for the challenges. Another person that has overall authority is the man who controls the challenges and council meetings. He has the power to give the kids their prizes and takes the kids who want to leave, home.
Cooperation: One example of cooperation is at the challenges, all teams have to work together and finish on time to get the prize. The prizes are very important and could make the town improve. Most of the time other people from different teams have to help get other jobs done. For example when the yellow team wouldn't cook, so everyone else pitched in so they could eat. Also there are a lot of dirty dishes and its hard for one team to get it done while they are cooking, so other teams step in.

Conflict: There is recently a reelection for the council and everyone wants different leaders. Because of that, there has been a lot of fighting about who is doing a horrible job as a leader. Also Taylor put up a bunch of posters and a boy from the red team was ripping them all down. That caused all the little girls to get mad and some even cried. Lastly Taylor hasn't bee pulling her weight around the town and doing her job, so everyone is yelling and getting tired of her actions.
Group Boundary: The town is broken up in 4 teams, all named by colors blue, yellow, green, and red. Each team is separate from each other during challenges, and have to work together to become winners. Also their jobs split the teams up, and the jobs are upper class, merchants, cooks, and laborers. Another group boundary is the council, Anjay, Taylor, Mike, and Laurel. They tend to spend more time together in order to make decisions for the town.
Social Category: There are a lot of social categories in Bananza City. One social category is that everyone is a resident to Bananza city. A resident is a person who live at a certain place for a long period of time. Another social category is that everyone there are considered children, and the kids ages range from 8 to 15. Lastly the council is a social category because they spend the most time together.

Ascribed status- Each group does not get to pick which job they get to do. It is assigned according to your rank in the challenges. Also everyone accept the council did not get to pick who their team mates where. For example the yellow team is all little kids, so they don't have a lot of control.
Obligation- Everyone in the town has their own obligation which is doing their own job that they were assigned. The jobs are merchants, laborers, cooks, and upper class. Another obligation that the kids have is that they have to work together because if they don't, then the city cant continue and grow.
Right- Recently the problem that the town has faced is different religions. Everyone has a right to believe in what they think. Also the town has the right to eat, but the yellow team has been cooks two times and haven't been pulling their weight. Because of their laziness other people are having to work two jobs now, so everyone doesn't starve.

Play stage: One example is when a few of the little kids opened up a shop. They made it a stuffed animal groom shop to where you would pay them to wash their stuffed animal. Also the maker of the camp made a book that and was pretending that it was ancient and very important. Overall they are all pretending that they are living in their own town.
Resocialization: They had to adapt by making their own food. Most of them just had their parents to feed them or had food ready to eat in their house. All of there food has to be cooked, so it was a lot harder. Also they had to adapt to not having conditioning and heating. They had to wear coats inside and bundle up with blankets to stay warm.
Desocialization: They had to give up old things like television and sleeping on a bed. Also they have to give up being independent and work on making decisions as a team. For example if they win the challenges, the council has to pick between two prizes. Another thing they had to give up was running water. One of the teams had to carry water from the spicket to there kitchen for their job.

Beliefs: Nobody in the camp had had fresh meat, so they were thinking about cooking some of their chickens. They held a town meeting to vote if they should. One little girl named emillie was very set on not wanting to kill the chickens. She believed that the chickens were her friends and they deserve to live. But because of everyone else's beliefs, they cooked the chicken so they could have protein.
Drives: During the challenge everyone tried their best to win. If they didn't get finished fast enough they would get a very horrible job for very little money. For example if your team finishes last, then you will have to carry water back to the camp for only 10 cents. Also when the yellow team failed to make food, everyone else pitched in because they didn't want to starve. Including the time when the kids got to the camp at first there wasn't jobs, so they had to find whatever they could cook and eat.
Laws: Emillie was in the lower class and wanted to be in the chicken pen. The law is that only merchants and upper class could be in there, so they had to kick her out of the pen and she ran away. Another law is that you have to do the job that is assigned to you. If you don't do your job, then you wont get paid. If you don't get paid, then you wont be able to buy things that you would enjoy.

Kid Nation
Perspective was used throughout the kid nation video. Perspective is a particular individual's point of view, which is effected by experiences. For example one of the fourteen year old girls took charge of the cooking since she has more experience than a bunch of 10 year olds. That way more food can be cooked the right way and will actually taste good.
Another act that was used was social structure. Social structure is the patterned interactions of the people in social relationships. The runner of the show put a 10, 11, 12, and another 11 year old in charge of all the kids at the camp. There are a couple teenagers and the teenagers wont listen and take orders from kids younger than them. For example one of the 11 year olds yelled at the 15 year old to do something and got in his face, this caused the teenager to push the kid. This causes a struggle in being in charge and making the 'city' work together.
Lastly power was a big role in the kids' lives. Power is the ability to control others. The runner of the show chose 4 kids to be in charge or power of the camp. They had the power of giving a gold star that was worth a lot of money to a kid who was working hard. For example one of the fourteen year olds took over cooking, cleaning, and a lot of other things around the camp. So the council chose

Dear Mrs. Debolt,
My favorite color is blue and my favorite movie is Perks of Being a Wallflower. I don't like sports or being with a bunch of people so I pretty much just stay at home. I live with my little annoying 9 year old sister and my mom. I laugh WAY too much! My birthday is February 21st. Also this year I finally got my own room and bed which is amazing.
Last summer was the first time I've ever rode a rollercoaster. I didn't like them because I'm afraid of heights and I worry about getting sick on the loops. My dad made me go on the Boomerang last fall at six flags and after that I've enjoyed all the rollercoasters. Also when I was born, I was born in an ice storm. None of my family could get to the hospital and had to wait a whole day.
I'm not really good at using the computer. I have trouble typing without looking and finding where I need to go. I like to play games on the computer and go on paint. I would like to learn how to type without looking.
Sincerely,
Kaylee Swallow

Kid Nation
We are learning about pioneer town with kids to try and live in a pioneer town. Or kid nation forty kids live in the middle of nowhere for forty days led by four kids as well. The kids seem a little iffy about their leaders and they may have to be taken off of council they also get a gold star to give to one of the kids to change their lives which is a big responsibility. they are already having problems with their council and they can barely even get to town. they all seem confused and they try to figure everything out even if they are arguing they realize that no one really know what to do or how to cook which quite frankly is kinda sad. They all need to work together assign certain people certain jobs. I see the leaders Laura especially reaching out trying to make the younger kids feel more comfortable. They found graffiti on he walls they believe it was the older kids. Now they have jobs being assigned. For the jobs they are having a showdown blue is full of teenagers and they are being idiotic and rude to the rest the teams.the kids are having a hard time pumping water the red is the upper class blue are the merchants yellow is the cooks green are the laborers. they won a reward for the whole town but i don't see why the rest of the teams didn't help green finish quicker plus they have to choose their reward it' between 7 outhouses or a TV i would choose the outhouses because it would be better for them in the long run and TV will just encourage laziness. At first everyone was concerned that yellow team wouldn't be able to cook but the new problem is that yellow team does not want to clean up plus the red team needs to learn have to better money saving skills. Taylor is thinking about leaving but if she does it could cause issues with the golden star. The pioneers are having a town hall meeting they are starting to argue about dishes and such now people agree that the leaders need to get to know people. Then the question do you want to go home? came then Jimmy decided to go home. Bye Jimmy!!!! the gold star goes to drum roll please ...Sophia the dancer for a bike she tries to be less bossy. People are working harder for a star of gold.I honestly believe that working harder and making sure not to fight among themselves will make their town run smoothly.

Bad Day
Bad days is when it feels like the rain won't go away and everything hurts and everything is going wrong. It almost feels like your drowning losing all your strength and sometimes when i have a bad day i feel like the pain will never leave it won't let you breathe you feel helpless. The sun suddenly wants to hide leaving you here like your nothing and that hurts. Despite everyone telling you this is temporary while it's comforting for a second you feel like it will never end and if your wondering if i wrote this on a bad day i did. Although it hurts i know i'll be okay tomorrow i a new day.

It breaks the Guinness World Records of 14 stories high.It is said to be maybe 17 stories high.this was the idea of Jeff also known as 'Wizard of Water' for designing multiple exciting water rides.I would LOVE to go an this ride although I would be terrified I would because it would be AWESOME SAUCE.
My step-dad did extensive work painting the house.
I would love to go sky diving even though I would be sent hurtling towards earth.
The small light from the hall illuminated my room.
My friend is always mulling over who she wants to date.
Natalie propelled me towards the snake.
The surfer version of Tyrone said "Radical bro"
I speculated the safety of the ride .
